Resolution (1) of 2019 Regarding the Implementation of the Wages Protection Scheme

The CEO of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority:
After reviewing Law (19) of 2006 regarding the regulation of the labour market, and its amendments,
And the Private Sector’s Labour Law promulgated by Law (36) of 2012, and its amendments,
And Resolution (76) of 2008 regarding the regulation of foreign employees’ work permits that are not house servants, and its amendments,
And Resolution (4) of 2014 regarding the regulation of house servants’ work permits and those equivalent,
And Resolution (68) of 2019 regarding the Wages Protection Scheme,
And based on the presentation of the CEO of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority,
And after the approval of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority’s Board of Directors,
Has Decided the Following:
First Article
A system shall be established in the Labour Market Regulatory Authority that consists of an electronic database that ensures overseeing the employer's commitment to pay the wages of his employees in accordance with the provisions of the Law and Resolution (68) of 2019 regarding the Wages Protection Scheme.
The Authority commits to preserving the confidentiality of this database and may not disclose it except within the legally established limits or in accordance with this Resolution.
Second Article
A- Those licensed by the Central Bank of Bahrain must disclose the Wages Protection Scheme’s related information to the Labour Market Regulation Authority as follows:
- The full name of the employee.
- The Identity Card number of the employee.
- The amount that has been paid as a wage to the employee.
- The date of wage payment.
- The employee’s account number or his Identification code – according to the situation -.
- The account number of the employer.
- The Identity Card number or the Commercial Registration number of the employer.
B- The information mentioned in the paragraph above must be disclosed as soon as the employee’s wage has been deposited.
Third Article
The CEO of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and all concerned entities – each in their own field - shall execute this resolution, and it shall come into effect on the next day of being published in the official gazette.
