Renewal of an Employment Office License
This service is provided after the licensee applies a request to the Labour Market Regulatory Authority to renew the employment office’s license no more than sixty days before its expiration, and the license is valid for one year.
Service Conditions
- The application is subject to the provisions, laws, regulations, bylaws, and decisions issued by the concerned executive authorities in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
- Payment of all fees due to LMRA.
- The license applicant, licensee or business owner should not breach any of the essential obligations imposed by the laws of regulating the labour market, regulations, by laws.
- There should be no evidence that the licensee has stopped practicing his/ her activity, closed it, or changed the location of the activity in violation of the provisions of the laws and decisions in force in this regard.
- Practicing the activity at the licensed headquarters stated in the license, independently and not related to any other activity.
- The employment office must be personally managed by the licensee himself. The licensee is responsible for attending LMRA when necessary.
- Providing temporary and adequate housing, the company and supervision of a female if the activity of employing domestic employees is requested. Notifying LMRA immediately upon any changes in the housing address or the housing supervisor.
- The licensee must not use the commercial premises for housing domestic employees.
- Preparing the activity headquarters according to the specifications approved by the Authority.
- Placing the license certificate in an evident place at the premises the activity is being practiced in as well as the place of temporary housing for females.
- Notify the authority immediately when the data contained in the application is changed or updated, or immediately upon liquidation of its activity, declaration of bankruptcy, or cancellation of the commercial register in the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MOIC)
- Enabling LMRA and its inspectors to enter the employment office premises or the residence designated for domestic employees at any time.
- The licensee shall not employ or mediate a worker who falls under the category of children or who are not permitted to work in accordance with the legislations in force in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
- Commitment to use contract templates approved by LMRA.
- Recording and updating data and contract forms approved by LMRA on a continuous and regular basis and in accordance with the authority’s regulations in force in this regard.
- Recording and updating data and contract templates approved by LMRA on a continuous and regular basis in its database in accordance with the Authority’s regulations in force in this regard.
- Creating a record to prove employment contracts conforming to the approved templates by the authority that have been used between employers and employees via his mediation.
- The license expires at the end of its original or renewed term, and the licensee must submit a request for renewal using the same procedures followed and stipulated conditions no more than 60 days and no less than 30 days before the license expires.
- LMRA may use the financial guarantee amount to compensate employers when the licensee breaches the contracts signed with them, as well as to pay the licensee’s unpaid dues and fines.
- The license shall be considered revoked before the expiry of its term if it is proven that the licensee obtained the license based on false documents and information, or if he loses one or more conditions for granting the license, or a criminal verdict is issued against the licensee for a felony or a crime against honor or trust, or breach of trust. Or the licensee’s breach of the fundamental obligations imposed by the labour market regulation law and the decisions implementing it.
